TRAINING FOR SEAFARERS WITH DESIGNATED SECURITY DUTIES

Seafarers designated to perform security duties including anti-piracy and anti-armed-robbery-related activities on board vessel.

Those who successfully complete this course should be able:

• Contribute the enhancement of maritime security through heightened awareness;
• Recognize security threats;
• Understand the need for and methods of maintaining security awareness and vigilance;
• Maintain the conditions set forth in a ship security plan;
• Recognize security risks and threats;
• Undertake regular security inspections of the ship;
• Use security equipment and systems properly.
