IASST International Meeting and Conference in Cork, Ireland
Two representatives of Novikontas Maritime College participated at the 67th IASST (International Association for Safety and Survival Training) International Meeting and 10th International Conference held at National Maritime College of Ireland (NMCI) in Cork, Ireland, 15-21 October 2015.
Deputy Director of Novikontas Maritime College Dmitrijs Semjonovs was elected as new Chairman of IASST and chaired the Meeting and Conference.“I look forward to leading IASST into the future by building on the values and objectives established previously”, said Dmitrijs Semjonovs, “thank you for your confidence and support”.
Key themes for this year Conference were “Maritime Survival systems” and “Global Training standards”. Training & Quality manager Aleksejs Bogdanecs was a speaker with the topic “STCW today and tomorrow: Point of view of MET institution”, which was-marked as very useful and caused active discussions.
