IASST International Meeting and Seminar in Klaipeda, Lithuania
On April 20th 2015, four representatives of Novikontas Maritime College participated in International safety seminar in Klaipeda, Lithuania. The 66th Seminar was organized by International Association for Safety and Survival Training (IASST), Novikontas Jūrininkų Treniruočių Centras and Lietuvos Aukštoji Jūreivustės Mokykla. This time main topic of the seminar was - Beyond the Equipment - Key Role of Safety Survival Training Instructor.
Novikontas Maritime College covered 4 different issues on importance of Instructor’s role in training among other delegates from Finland, Latvia, Nigeria, Canada, United Kingdom, Iceland, Japan, Ireland, Estonia, Norway, France, Georgia and Romania.
Dr.Manuel Fernandez, Researcher at Novikontas Research, took part in the opening of the International Safety Seminar and spoke about the role of Safety Instructor in training process. Head of Educational Department at Novikontas Maritime College Anton Voytkevich also gave his contribution to opening part of the seminar by presenting his paper called "KPI in Development of Safety Training Exercises".
After introduction, Training and Quality Manager Aleksejs Bogdanecs took participants of the seminar to the other side of the trainings and spoke about Youngsters` fears regarding Safety at sea.
The closing presentation of 66th International Safety Seminar was given to Deputy Director of Novikontas Maritime College Dmitrijs Semjonovs. The paper - "Forecasting of Safety Training Institution Future", summarized objectives of the seminar.
